About Us

The Lake Beauty Association is made up of individuals and families living on and around the lake. Anyone can be a member as long as they pay their annual dues. One membership covers your household.

The Lake Association executive board includes the President, Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer. These are typically 3-year term positions and elections are held during the August annual meeting. In addition, Associate Board Members are also elected during the annual meeting. The Associate Board Members attend the quarterly board meetings and help with various projects throughout the year. All board positions are volunteer and all members pay an annual membership that’s due each August at or around the annual meeting.

The Lake Association is a strong advocate for members and non-members. We value our lake, the people who live here and all of those who come to visit.

The organization’s mission statement summarizes our purpose which is, the Lake Beauty Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting, preserving and enhancing the quality of the environment and life experiences in and around our area.

It Takes All Of Us To Build a Strong Lake Association

Meet Your Lake Board

Kathy Boeckman

President

My husband and I have been living on Lake Beauty the last 12 years. We have three amazing children and 4 precious grandchildren. I have always dreamed of living on a Minnesota lake. Not only has my dream come true, but I am surrounded with fun, caring neighbors. It is my privilege to serve as the president of the Lake Beauty Association where members make life on the lake better.

Nancy Schlee

Vice-President

My parents bought our current lot in 1969 and I’ve been enjoying Lake Beauty ever since. Nick, my husband of 32 years, along with our son and daughter, love the lake as much as I do. The memories we have made over the years are some of our most treasured. Nick and I both work remotely, so we spend as much time as we can at the cabin. Lake Beauty holds a special place in all our hearts, and I look forward to being part of the Lake Association board.

Dianne Krousey

Secretary/Treasurer

I have been married to my husband Bruce for 50+ years. We retired to Lake Beauty in April of 2013 after owning and operating a 17 unit motel in Long Prairie for 40+ years. We have 2 adult children and 2 grandsons. Together we enjoy golfing, fishing, traveling and sitting on the deck with our coffee or a cocktail and taking in the beauty of our lake and nature.

I grew up about eight miles away from the lake on the family farm.  Some of my earliest memories were fishing on the lake with my family.  My dad would rent a pontoon from someone on the west side of the lake.  Later in life, Lake Beauty became my favorite bass fishing lake.  I moved to the lake about 12yrs ago.  I have continued to make memories with my family now.  I am still getting to know my neighbors but I like what the association does for the lake.  I look forward to help the association keep the lake clean and fun for all.

Kevin and I, along with our granddaughter Jada, have been living on Lake beauty full-time since September 2013. Both Kevin and I are retired but I volunteer at Saint Mary’s school in Long Prairie, which gives me great joy. We love to travel, especially by car, to national parks. I also enjoy golfing, reading and doing arts and crafts. We can I think of a better place to raise our Jada.

I have served at Lake Beauty Bible Camp since 2019 and have been the Executive Director since the start of 2023. I grew up in southwest Michigan, twenty miles from Lake Michigan, spending most summers with my family. My wife Jenna, originally from Minnesota, and I have three boys (7, 5, 3) who you may see out on their bikes. We love hearing the loon calls out on the water and seeing the beautiful fall foliage out over the lake. I have grown an affinity for Beauty Lake, not just because LBBC holds the most shoreline but because of the community of people that live around here and come together.

After Lynn and I retired from public service in 2018 we began the search for our retirement lake home. Which in August of 2023 that brought us from Rochester MN. to the shores of Beauty Lake.  One of the most important aspects in our search for a lake home was the water clarity and quality, that we found in Lake Beauty!
